1. Heritage Tours

Ruapekapeka, Russell and Roundabout

Come with our driver and guide to the Ruapekapeka Battle site where trench warfare was invented.

From there go on to the ferry to picturesque Russell and visit the church with bullet holes, Pompallier House where French influence was established, and go up Flagstaff Hill to see the site where Hone Heke dispatched the British flagpole on a number of occasions! Look across the water at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.

Finish with a refreshing "cup of tea" in Russell.

On a Mission

Trace the missionaries' footsteps across the Bay with our driver and guide. Visit the Williams Church in Paihia, go on to the early mission sites and churches in Waimate North and Kerikeri, and visit historic Kemp House, also at Kerikeri. Our "cup of tea" will be in an adjacent Kerikeri restaurant.

Have a hot beverage on us before departing on the ocean waves.

A Capital Story

Our driver and guide will take you on the ferry to the site of the first capital of New Zealand and you will see the place where the first Government House was situated.

From there it's on to Kororareka (present day Russell) for stories of whalers, grog shops and resident whores!

Visit a modern day "purveyor of liquors" when we take our tea break at the historic Duke of Marlborough hotel, then look out over the water from Flagstaff Hill and see the historic sites in other places in the Bay.

Treaty Times

Our guide will take you to the Treaty Grounds at Waitangi and show you the sites associated with the iconic first signing of New Zealand's founding document. You will see the Giant Waka, the Whare and the Treaty House.

Then go over the water to the site of the First Capital of New Zealand and see where government started for the modern state.

Have a farewell drink with a view of the harbour.

Horotutu Hikoi

This is a walking tour of the historic town of Paihia which transports the visitor back to the formative times of the modern nation of New Zealand.
