About Us
Top-End Tourism is headed by Jeanette Richardson ONZM. It is a division of Richardson Management Consultants Ltd.
Jeanette has had a lengthy career in both tourism and management. Some of her key achievements are:
- 2013: Semi-finalist (one of eight) in New Zealander of the Year.
- 2013: Finalist in Women of Influence (Fairfax Media)
- 2011: Appointed as an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the New Zealand Royal Honours New Year 2011 List. This honour was for services to the community of New Zealand.
- 2010: Awarded the national award by the Tourism Industry Association for the New Zealander who made the most innovative contribution to tourism over the preceding two years. The award was for "Outstanding Contribution to Tourism".
- 2010: Jeanette was also finalised for the New Zealand Woman of the Year Awards (Arts/Culture Section).
Jeanette has extensive management experience; she has provided management services to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, over a ten year period and is Managing Director of Richardson Management Consultants Ltd.
She also works in the Museum sector and is leading the National Army Museum.
She has a degree in New Zealand History and is a published author. Her works include:
- A Capital Story - the tale of the first capital and Government House of the modern nation of New Zealand (Bay of Islands)
- The Waitangi Series – a set of four short works telling the multi-faceted story of the Treaty Grounds.
Top-End Tourism is ably supported by Gaylene Harris.
Gaylene’s tribal affiliations are: Ko Ngatiwai, Ko Ngatiwhatua, Ko Ngati Hine, Ko Ngapuhi nui tonu te iwi.
She has worked extensively in the tourism, heritage and education sectors and brings a wealth of local knowledge to the Top End offerings.
